Va’Necia Williams, Sa’Niah Davis and A’veonia Davis Obituary, Kaufman County, Texas — Family members are mourning the heartbreaking loss of 38-year-old Va’Necia Williams and her two daughters, 14-year-old Sa’Niah Davis and 9-year-old A’veonia Davis, who were killed in a devastating crash in Kaufman County late Sunday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS), the fatal collision occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, along the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 80, just east of Windmill Farms Boulevard. Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the family was travelling in a 2013 Hyundai passenger vehicle when it became disabled in the right eastbound lane of the highway.
Authorities said an eastbound truck-tractor semi-trailer approached the disabled Hyundai and was unable to avoid the vehicle, striking it from behind. The force of the collision pushed the Hyundai over a concrete bridge railing, causing catastrophic damage. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced all three occupants of the Hyundai deceased.
The victims have been identified as Va’Necia Williams, 38, and her daughters, Sa’Niah Davis, 14, and A’veonia Davis, 9. Their deaths have left relatives and members of the Kaufman County community grieving the loss of a mother and her children in a tragedy that has deeply affected those who knew them.
Officials reported that the driver of the truck-tractor semi-trailer was not injured in the crash. Investigators have not indicated whether mechanical issues, visibility concerns, or any other factors contributed to the collision beyond the Hyundai becoming disabled in the travel lane.
The Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash. Authorities have not released additional information regarding how long the Hyundai had been disabled on the roadway or whether any other contributing factors played a role in the incident.
As family members and the wider community mourn the loss of Va’Necia Williams, Sa’Niah Davis and A’veonia Davis, they are remembered with sorrow by those whose lives they touched. The family’s passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences, and heartfelt sympathies remain with their loved ones during this profoundly difficult time.
